A Government-Sponsored Enterprise, or GSE, is a privately owned financial services corporation created by Congress to enhance credit flow in specific sectors, especially housing. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are the best-known GSEs. They buy mortgages from lenders, package them into securities, and guarantee repayment, helping to maintain liquidity and stability in the mortgage market.

Mark has a BS in finance from the University of Utah, MBA from the University of Colorado, and was an adjunct professor of finance at the University of Utah for eighteen years. Mark recently retired after 25 years as senior vice president of a wealth advisory firm in Salt Lake City.
